  17.             <body><![CDATA[If you have ever tried an expensive DVD player, you know how hard it is to go back to a cheap model. Those low-rent plastic fascias, crude buttons and fussy menus are bad enough, but when you plug one into a decent widescreen television or plasma, itΓÇÖs not a pretty picture. Although highly affordable, this Toshiba has none of these nasties: its progressive scan output means the display is as sharp as glass, and the slimline (less than 2┬╜in high) mirror-finish front panel really looks the part. Features include a JPEG picture viewer for digital photos, and a classy remote control. A fine first machine.]]></body>
